Teal Haired Booth

  • Commercial | New York City Javits Center | Temporary

Designed and built in our workshop for Brooklyn-based furniture company miduny, this display booth is composed of 13 prefabricated elements. It was designed so that the components could be shipped in a regular van and assembled on site by two people in under one hour.

The design intent was to address at once two different scales. From far away, the elaborate roof structure and teal color are eye-catching and iconic–necessary attributes for a small 5'x10' booth to stand out in the much larger scale of the Javits Center.  At a closer distance, the booth maximizes the real estate and provides a playful yet orderly backdrop for the furniture pieces to stand out. The six prefabricated beams contain lighting elements and also support the polycarbonate light diffusers.
